So You Wanna be a Hawkeye?
The University of Iowa Cross Country and Track programs are always looking for prospective student-athletes who are motivated, fun, hard working, passionate about running and excited about competing at the NCAA Division I level. If you posess these qualities, then you are the type of individual that would fit in perfectly with the Hawkeyes.
TheUniversity of Iowa is located in the heart of Iowa City, Iowa and has everything you could ask for in a town. The University is widely recognized as not only one of the best schools in the Midwest, but also the nation. Although many come to Iowa for running, education is the priority and this goal is reflected by the Hawkeye Cross Country teams back-to-back Academic All-American honors.
As an athlete at Iowa you get everything you need to perform to the best of your ability. There are great places to run all within fifteen minutes of campus, and Iowa is one of the few programs in the nation that has its own dedicated cross country course right on campus. The Recreation building is home to the Iowa's 200 meter indoor track, locker rooms, weight room, and training room complete with a cold tank for post-workout recovery.
One of the best parts about being a collegiate athlete is traveling to competitions. This year the Hawks have been to places like Maine, South Carolina, Florida, and California! If you think you would make a good Hawkeye, contact Coach Anderson at hawkeyecc@hotmail.com.
